This role is pivotal in ensuring the effectiveness of our logistics and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) initiatives.

Role Summary:
The Senior Logistics Systems Engineering Lead will be responsible for overseeing both logistics and DMSMS support functions.

In this capacity, you will analyze, manage, and mitigate the effects of obsolete and diminishing components on our systems and products, ensuring robust reporting at the customer level.

Your proficiency in identifying alternative solutions, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining supply continuity will be essential for upholding the performance, reliability, and availability of our systems.

This position demands a solid technical foundation, analytical acumen, and outstanding problem-solving capabilities.


As a Logistics Engineer, the successful candidate will act as both an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager and Logistics Engineer, tasked with life cycle cost analysis, maintenance planning, repair management, supply chain oversight, provisioning, and various logistics-related responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated leadership in DMSMS management, obsolescence mitigation, systems engineering, and project management.
- Comprehensive understanding of DMSMS principles, industry standards (e.g., SAE-ARP-6272), and government standards (SD-22) for effective obsolescence risk mitigation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of evaluating complex technical data and making informed decisions.
- Experience in component selection, qualification, and substitution processes.
- Proficient in utilizing DMSMS management tools, databases, and software applications (e.g., I.H.S., Silicon Expert).


- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach, anticipating potential DMSMS challenges and developing effective mitigation strategies.


- Coordinate all logistics elements (e.g., spares, support equipment, training, facilities, technical data, provisioning, etc.) to ensure all integrated logistics support requirements for the program are identified.

- Participate in site surveys and program reviews.


- Support the generation and review of logistics support documentation, including Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), Technical Orders (TOs), Technical Manuals, Electronic Technical Manuals, Illustrated Parts Breakdowns, and work specifications to ensure compliance with Government logistics support requirements.

- Implement DoD Acquisition and Life-cycle Management policies and procedures.
- Assess resources (e.g., funds, manpower, facilities, equipment, supplies, and services) necessary to fulfill logistics plans.
- Obtain and maintain any security clearances, status, or licenses required to perform work.
- Apply Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 5000 acquisition processes, relating them to products, production, and sustainment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of experience in DMS and Logistics Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience with LSA, MIL-STD-1388 or its successor GEI-0007, Reliability, Maintainability, Availability, and equivalents.
- At least 3 years of experience in cost account and project engineering management.


- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate DMS and Logistics information.
