Position Overview:
The Logistics Systems Engineer will manage the overarching Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Programs, including various initiatives such as LEO, VULCAN, SPECTRE, SCORPIO, and MRTCDL 2.0. This role involves direct collaboration with customers and program teams to formulate ILS strategies that align with high-level Air Force sustainment objectives, focusing on operational availability requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize advanced ILS engineering analyses to ensure cost-effective and sustainable product solutions throughout their lifecycle.
- Coordinate logistics elements such as spares, support equipment, training, and technical data to meet integrated logistics support requirements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) for budget planning and execution to meet program objectives.
- Lead a team of engineers, fostering an environment that promotes quality and efficiency in product delivery.
- Review customer statements of work for logistics tasks and develop estimates for logistics-related activities.
- Conduct complex analyses to identify and resolve issues, utilizing strong research skills to support problem-solving efforts.
- Prepare and deliver organized presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-1388 or GEI-0007 standards in logistics documentation and database structuring.
- Understand maintenance concepts and their impact on organizational and depot-level maintenance.
- Identify support equipment needs and develop associated requirements.
- Produce comprehensive logistics plans and reports that meet program requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 16 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. US Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in cost account and project engineering management, along with a working knowledge of Logistics Engineering. Familiarity with ILS-related tools and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting are essential.
