About the Role

In this position, you will oversee the Engagement Platform (EP) team, which plays a critical role in connecting content with CRM data. You will face challenges such as building robust infrastructure to handle extensive data volumes and leveraging AI to enhance content relationships and recommendations.

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Highspot, you will lead, inspire, and develop a team of skilled engineers within a significant product domain. Your technical acumen and proven leadership abilities will influence strategic decisions regarding our technical framework, team dynamics, and engineering ethos. You will also serve as a pivotal decision-maker in your product area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide a team of engineers to implement the strategic vision for your product area, motivating them to excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate effectively with essential partners in your product area, including Designers, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers.
  • Work closely with Highspot's Partner Marketing team to synchronize business and technical objectives.
  • Promote and enhance Highspot's culture, ensuring that Engineering remains an inclusive and welcoming environment, leading the industry in diversity and inclusion.
  • Apply your technical expertise while collaborating with the Architects team to oversee the evolution of Highspot's software; ensure our architecture and technology stack can adapt to the demands of rapid growth and maintain high availability across global data centers.
  • Deliver a product that prioritizes quality, security, and reliability, partnering with the DevOps team to create and sustain highly observable systems with effective metrics and actionable alerts.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere where engineers at all levels can contribute meaningfully.
  • Mentor and support the professional and technical growth of your engineering team.
  • Ensure that architects, stakeholders, and subject matter experts are appropriately engaged in decision-making processes.
  • Communicate decisions clearly within and outside your team.
  • Establish accountability through relevant performance metrics and provide timely feedback and coaching.

Your Qualifications

  • Over 4 years of experience managing software engineering teams.
  • Hands-on engineering leader capable of engaging with code when necessary.
  • Extensive experience in developing and scaling cloud-native applications and frameworks.
  • Strong background in building and maintaining both first-party and third-party integrations.
  • Demonstrated success in attracting and retaining top engineering talent from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven track record as a collaborator who prioritizes team success over individual achievements.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience in greenfield development and successfully launching new products. Experience in entering new markets is a plus.
  • Prior experience in designing and building scalable software products.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle for SaaS applications.
  • Familiarity with modern object-oriented and functional programming languages.
  • Experience in software development using dynamic languages such as Ruby or Python.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $167,000 - $290,000. Employees may also receive stock options and other forms of compensation based on various job-related factors, including location, experience, and qualifications.
