About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Engagement Platform (EP) team, which plays a crucial role in integrating content with CRM data. You will face challenges such as developing robust infrastructure to handle extensive data volumes and leveraging AI to enhance content relationships and recommendations.
As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Highspot, you will lead, inspire, and nurture a team of skilled engineers within a significant product domain. Your technical acumen and proven leadership abilities will guide strategic decisions regarding our technical framework, team dynamics, and engineering ethos. You will also serve as a vital decision-maker within your product domain.
What You'll Do
- Guide a team of engineers to execute the strategic vision of your product area, motivating them to achieve their highest potential.
- Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders in your product area, including Designers, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers.
- Work in close partnership with Highspot's Partner Marketing team to align business objectives with technical goals.
- Promote and enhance Highspot's culture, ensuring that Engineering remains an inclusive and welcoming environment, while striving to lead the tech industry in diversity initiatives.
- Utilize your technical expertise to collaborate with the Architects team, managing the evolution of Highspot's software; ensure our architecture and technology stack are optimized for hyper-growth, supporting high availability and reliability across global data centers.
- Deliver a product that prioritizes quality, security, and reliability, partnering with the DevOps team to create highly observable systems with effective metrics and actionable alerts.
- Foster a collaborative atmosphere where engineers at all levels can contribute meaningfully.
- Mentor and support the professional and technical growth of your engineering team.
- Ensure architects, stakeholders, and subject matter experts are appropriately engaged in decision-making processes.
- Communicate decisions effectively within and beyond your team.
- Establish accountability through relevant performance metrics and provide timely feedback and coaching.
Your Background
- 4+ years of experience in managing software engineering teams.
- Hands-on engineering leader capable of engaging with code when necessary.
- Extensive experience in developing and scaling cloud-native applications and frameworks.
- Strong background in building and maintaining both first-party and third-party integrations.
- Proven track record in attracting and retaining top engineering talent from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated success as a collaborator who prioritizes team success over individual achievements.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, committed to delivering high-quality results.
- Experience in greenfield development and successfully launching new products. Familiarity with entering new markets or channels is a plus.
- Prior experience in designing and developing software products at scale.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for SaaS applications.
- Working knowledge of modern object-oriented and functional programming languages.
- Experience in developing software using dynamic languages such as Ruby or Python.
