About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Engagement Platform (EP) team, which plays a crucial role in connecting content with CRM data. You will face challenges such as establishing robust infrastructure to handle extensive data volumes and leveraging AI to enhance content relationships and recommendations.

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Highspot, you will lead, inspire, and nurture a team of innovative engineers within a significant product domain. Your technical acumen and proven leadership abilities will guide strategic decisions regarding our technical ecosystem, team dynamics, and engineering culture. You will also play a vital role in decision-making within your product area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide a team of engineers to execute the strategic vision of your product area, motivating them to achieve their highest potential.
  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders in your product area, including Designers, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers.
  • Work closely with Highspot's Partner Marketing team to align both business and technical objectives.
  • Uphold and enhance Highspot's culture, ensuring that Engineering remains an inclusive environment, leading the tech industry with our commitment to diversity.
  • Apply your technical expertise in collaboration with the Architects team to manage the evolution of Highspot's software, ensuring our architecture and technology stack are optimized for hyper-growth.
  • Deliver a product that prioritizes quality, security, and reliability, partnering with the DevOps team to maintain systems with excellent observability and actionable metrics.
  • Create a collaborative atmosphere where engineers at all levels can contribute meaningfully.
  • Mentor and support the professional and technical growth of your team members.
  • Ensure architects, stakeholders, and subject matter experts are appropriately engaged in decision-making processes.
  • Communicate decisions effectively within and beyond your team.
  • Enforce accountability through relevant performance metrics and timely feedback.

Your Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in managing software engineering teams.
  • Hands-on engineering leader capable of engaging with code when necessary.
  • Extensive experience in developing and scaling cloud-native applications and frameworks.
  • Strong background in building and maintaining both first-party and third-party integrations.
  • Proven track record in attracting and retaining top engineering talent from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborator who prioritizes team success over individual achievements.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience in greenfield development and successfully launching new products.
  • Previous experience in designing and building scalable software products.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle for SaaS applications.
  • Familiarity with modern object-oriented and functional programming languages.
  • Experience in developing software using dynamic languages such as Ruby or Python.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $167,000 - $290,000. Employees may also receive stock options and other forms of compensation based on various job-related factors.
