About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will lead the Engagement Platform (EP) team, which plays a crucial role in connecting content with CRM data. You will face challenges such as establishing a robust infrastructure capable of handling vast data volumes and leveraging AI to create meaningful content relationships and recommendations.

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Highspot, you will motivate, guide, and develop a team of skilled engineers within a significant product domain. Your technical acumen and proven leadership abilities will inform strategic decisions regarding our technical framework, team dynamics, operational procedures, and engineering ethos. You will also play a vital role in decision-making within your product domain.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of engineers, executing the strategic vision for your product area while inspiring and encouraging your team to excel.
  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders in your product area, including Designers, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers.
  • Work closely with Highspot's Partner Marketing team to synchronize business and technical objectives.
  • Uphold and enhance Highspot's culture, ensuring that Engineering remains an inclusive and welcoming environment, leading the tech industry in our commitment to diversity.
  • Apply your technical expertise while collaborating with the Architects team to oversee the evolution of Highspot's software; ensure our architecture and technology stack are optimized to meet the demands of rapid growth and maintain high availability and reliability across global data centers.
  • Deliver a product that prioritizes quality, security, and reliability, partnering with the DevOps team to develop and sustain highly observable systems with actionable metrics and alerts.
  • Create a collaborative atmosphere where engineers at all levels can contribute meaningfully.
  • Mentor and support the professional and technical growth of your engineering team.
  • Ensure that architects, stakeholders, and subject matter experts are appropriately engaged in decision-making processes.
  • Communicate decisions effectively within and beyond your team.
  • Promote accountability through relevant performance targets and provide timely feedback and coaching.

Your Background

  • 4+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
  • Hands-on engineering leader capable of engaging with the code when necessary.
  • Extensive experience in developing and scaling cloud-native applications and frameworks.
  • Strong background in building and maintaining both first-party and third-party integrations.
  • Proven track record in attracting and retaining top engineering talent from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborator who prioritizes team success over individual goals.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, committed to delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience in greenfield development and successfully launching new products. Experience in entering new markets is a plus.
  • Prior experience in designing and building scalable software products.
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for SaaS applications.
  • Working knowledge of modern object-oriented and functional programming languages.
  • Experience in developing software using dynamic languages such as Ruby or Python.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $167,000 - $290,000. Employees are eligible for stock options and may receive additional forms of compensation.
