Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Surgery team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth surgical experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate pre-op and post-op patient care to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Obtain and manage supplies, equipment, and medications needed for patient care
  • Prepare and monitor patients for surgeries and procedures, administering medication and IV therapy as needed
  • Receive and initiate physician orders, providing pre-op and post-op patient teaching and emotional support
  • Ensure all patients have met discharge criteria, completing patient follow-up calls post-procedure to evaluate patient care
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Acute care experience preferred
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred
