Amentum is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to deliver comprehensive support across various contracts. The focus of this role encompasses adherence to policies and regulations, ensuring HRIS data integrity, fostering employee relations, and providing HR assistance for government contract operations. While this position is primarily remote, regular communication with the HR supervisor and employee client base is essential, along with attendance at local in-person meetings as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, executing routine tasks related to the administration and tracking of HR activities, including benefits, compensation, leave management, and employee morale.
  • Offer administrative support to HR and Recruiting teams, facilitating the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
  • Organize and lead new hire orientation and benefits introduction programs.
  • Assist in compliance initiatives by communicating and distributing company policies, as well as adhering to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support HR and HRIS functions, including tasks related to contract bidding and new award setups, validating HRIS data accuracy, and maintaining organizational chart alignment.
  • Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues to the appropriate personnel and ensuring follow-up.
  • Contribute to program and company initiatives, tracking progress and preparing reports for analysis and dissemination. Identify best practices and recommend improvements to enhance the employee and manager experience.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and reports as needed.
  • May undertake special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Capability to analyze and resolve issues when faced with new challenges.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and direct them to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality across all employee interactions.
  • Familiarity with employment-related laws and regulations, with the ability to research updates and changes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex administrative processes, demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HRIS and talent management systems, with a preference for familiarity with Workday and Costpoint.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in human resources principles, practices, and procedures is preferred.
  • An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in independently assessing and resolving various employee relations issues from identification to resolution.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and disciplines, including recruiting, talent management, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, training and development, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
