Job Responsibilities

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled human resources professional to join our Office of Human Resources. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver advanced human resource services in a dynamic, high-volume environment for an agency with over 600 employees. Key responsibilities include:

  • Talent Acquisition: Manage the recruitment process, including preparing job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Classification and Compensation: Conduct classification audits for new and existing roles, assist in the development of Employee Work Profiles (EWPs), and perform salary analyses as required.
  • Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions and contribute to policy development and interpretation within assigned areas.
  • Travel Requirements: This position may require travel to various locations for training and recruitment events.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess a strong foundation in human resource management principles, with significant experience in talent acquisition, classification, and compensation. Essential skills include:

  • Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.
  • Proficiency in preparing and delivering training materials.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with HR software and Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Considerations

A combination of relevant education and experience in human resources or a related field is preferred. Candidates with experience in government HR practices and current professional HR certifications will be given special consideration.
