Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with management on HR-related issues and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and implement training programs to meet business needs and improve employee performance.
  • Partner with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide guidance on recruitment and selection processes, including interview methods and documentation needs.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to analyze trends and metrics and develop solutions to improve HR processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruitment, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent consulting skills, client management, and business literacy skills.
  • Strong conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships with employees and management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Human Resources experience working in 24/7 operations.
  • Extensive experience in recruitment and employee relations.
  • Human Resources experience spanning over regional territories.
  • PHR or SPHR certification.
