Position Overview:

The Virginia Department of Human Resource Management is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Office of Human Resources Development and Management (HRDM). This office is responsible for delivering essential HR services to various facilities across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Role Summary:

This position offers crucial administrative support within the recruitment and selection processes at the Central Office. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive assistance to a team of HR professionals, ensuring efficient operations and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, including managing applications and scheduling interviews.
  • Develop and maintain recruitment initiatives.
  • Update and manage databases relevant to HR functions.
  • Act as the Assistant COVLC (Commonwealth of VA Learning Center) domain administrator, handling account creation, password resets, and providing technical support.
  • Process purchase requisitions using the Commonwealth of Virginia's eVA system.
  • Facilitate onboarding processes for new employees.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven administrative experience with a solid understanding of office procedures.
  • Experience in providing support to professional teams in an office environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
  • Familiarity with procurement practices and confidentiality management.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with various databases, including recruitment and personnel systems.
  • Ability to create and manage reports and spreadsheets effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, capable of multitasking and managing time efficiently.
  • Outstanding customer service skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience within state government is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of human resource policies and procedures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Recruitment Management Systems (RMS), particularly PageUp.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is beneficial.
  • Understanding of Virginia's eProcurement Marketplace (eVA) is a plus.
