Job Responsibilities
The Virginia Department of Human Resource Management is dedicated to enhancing workforce development through effective grant management. This role involves providing essential administrative support and technical assistance to grant personnel, ensuring the seamless operation of grant-related activities.
As a Grant Specialist, you will oversee the reimbursement processes for various grants, ensuring compliance with deliverable requirements. Your responsibilities will include generating, compiling, entering, maintaining, tracking, and reporting on a wide array of grant data, as well as assisting in the preparation of comprehensive grant reports.
This position is funded through a federal grant, and continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funds.
Minimum Qualifications
- Familiarity with standard office procedures and basic accounting principles.
- Proficient in oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, time management, organization, data entry, and computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to interpret and manage financial data, ensuring compliance with deadlines and guidelines; manage databases, generate reports, and analyze grant-related information; prioritize tasks effectively; and resolve issues as they arise.
Additional Considerations
- Relevant education, training, or experience in business accounting or a related field.
- Experience in coordinating multiple components of service-oriented transactions.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to grants and grant agency requirements.
