Position: Infrastructure Software Engineer

Role Summary:
This role is pivotal in crafting exceptional software solutions that enhance the operational success of our organization. You will be instrumental in developing various components of our infrastructure to facilitate extensive interactions at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the company’s platform.
  • Architect and design systems while providing guidance and mentorship to peers.
  • Create and manage a public API.
  • Develop robust and extensible solutions based on feature requests.
  • Engage with big data technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to introduce valuable features.
  • Partner with Database Administrators to establish ETL and Data Warehouse systems.
  • Work alongside Operations to automate processes and enhance service reliability.
  • Monitor all production systems related to the platform closely.
  • Develop tools and processes to support analytics, monitoring, machine learning, and data warehousing platforms.
  • Define and execute strategies encompassing everything from subnets to backup solutions and fog networking configurations.
  • Provision, configure, maintain, back up, and monitor both onsite and cloud-based server resources.
  • Establish deployment strategies for both client-facing and internal tools.
  • Continuously improve and optimize alerting and monitoring systems.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software and systems development.
  • Strong foundation in software development with a history of building software systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as PHP, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Elixir, or Go.
  • Solid background in Linux system administration.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Digital Ocean, or Google Cloud.
  • Thorough understanding of IT security best practices.
  • Familiarity with automation/configuration tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible) and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
  • Comprehension of computer networking principles.
  • Experience managing systems at a production scale.
