The Advanced Design Tools (ADT) division is a software-centric team dedicated to the development and maintenance of a suite of engineering applications for GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation. This suite encompasses a diverse array of tools, including scientific simulations, modeling, and visualization. As a key member of the ADT team, you will play a vital role in enhancing our Aerodynamics toolset, focusing primarily on turbomachinery aerodynamics prediction and modeling for engine design. Your contributions will directly support GE Renewable Energy's technological initiatives aimed at pioneering the future of aviation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operational management of engineering tool projects, ensuring continuous access to GE engineering applications for the design community.
  • Define, develop, and implement processes for building, compiling, and distributing ADT tools.
  • Design, develop, deliver, and maintain engineering software applications and projects.
  • Program components, features, or feature sets of engineering tools or applications.
  • Engage in software lifecycle activities, including requirement analysis, documentation, and implementation.
  • Act as a security advocate, assisting engineers in the secure implementation of technology stacks within an enterprise environment.
  • Work independently while contributing to both your immediate team and other teams across the organization.
  • Participate in design discussions and contribute innovative ideas.

  • Influence decision-making processes among peers.
  • Implement a strategic roadmap within your area of expertise.
  • Conduct daily operational functions related to the engineering tools environment.
  • Adopt industry best practices to enhance productivity and optimize engineering tool infrastructure.
  • Drive simplified processes while engaging and leveraging cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
  • Provide support to a 24/7 operational team.
  • Design and develop complex application software in multiple programming languages.
  • Create and execute integrated test plans.
  • Develop and deploy solutions to effectively mitigate risks.
  • Support scripting and code instrumentation to ensure the functionality of tools.
  • Possess hands-on experience with both front-end and back-end development.
  • Lead small projects with minimal oversight.
  • Deliver solutions to customers while adhering to industry best practices.
  • Focus on improving and stabilizing the operational environment.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science with a focus on engineering/science applications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Engineering expertise in turbomachinery fundamentals and analysis.
    • Software development, architecture, and design.
    • Development, coding, and deployment of design tools.
    • Software Development Operations (DevOps) and Quality Assurance (QA).
    • Software product planning and processes.
    • User experience in software development.
    • Utilizing and customizing engineering analysis software applications.
  • Due to the nature of this position, the individual must obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite for this clearance.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent upon the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
