Role Overview
As the Senior Financial Partnerships Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, assessing, and overseeing key financial collaborations that enhance Airwallex's product offerings and facilitate our entry into new markets. This position is crucial in bridging the gap between financial partners and internal teams to drive strategic initiatives and successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute a banking partnership strategy specifically for the Americas, with a focus on the US and Canada, aligning with our vision for Airwallex's payment network.
- Oversee our most significant partnership opportunities, serving as the primary liaison between Airwallex and our partners.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to remain competitive and ensure Airwallex's leadership in the payment sector.
- Identify and assess opportunities for integration with local banking institutions, acquirers, and payment methods as we expand into new regions.
- Manage due diligence processes with potential partners and oversee the onboarding of new collaborations.
- Establish yourself as a thought leader within the industry.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a partnerships specialist with a strong background in the payments sector, particularly in managing relationships with major banks and card networks. You possess experience in both large corporations and dynamic startups, equipping you with the ability to implement effective processes while remaining adaptable and innovative. You are resourceful, proactive, and exhibit exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a partnerships or product role within a fintech, payments organization, bank, or major card scheme.
- Proficient in commercial negotiations and partnership management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to foster and maintain relationships.
- Strong understanding of compliance and onboarding processes with global and regional banks.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial.
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
