Residential Services Specialist

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services seeks a highly skilled Residential Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our program area, you will work closely with State Supported Living Center (SSLC) staff to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct on-site program reviews to monitor and evaluate SSLC operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to SSLC staff on residential services, operational areas, and policy compliance.
- Develop and implement audit processes to ensure efficient and effective operations and service delivery.
- Collaborate with SSLC staff and state office discipline coordinators to monitor adherence to standardized procedures and implement operational policies and procedures.
- Represent the program area at meetings, serve on committees, and act as a liaison with oversight entities and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area, including Intermediate Care Facilities/Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID), Texas Administrative Code (TAC), and HHSC policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of public administration and management techniques, statistical analysis processes, and program planning and implementation.
- Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts, devise solutions to complex problems, and develop and evaluate policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prepare reports, communicate effectively, and assign and/or supervise the work of others.
This position requires extensive travel to the 13 SSLCs throughout the state. The successful candidate will work under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
