Position Overview & Duties

Overview:

The Office of The State Bank Commissioner (OSBC) is seeking a Regulatory Financial Analyst within their Consumer & Mortgage Lending Consumer Credit division. This role offers the flexibility of remote work when not engaged in examinations or required at a field office for meetings. Candidates must be within travel distance to designated field offices.

This entry-level position is part of the Financial Examiner career trajectory, necessitating foundational accounting and finance competencies. Employees will receive comprehensive training, both on-the-job and externally, to equip them for examining entities licensed by the Division in accordance with state regulations. The Regulatory Financial Analyst will primarily participate in the evaluation of non-complex licensees, working collaboratively as part of an examination team under the guidance of the Examiner-in-Charge (EIC).

Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Collecting and organizing necessary documentation from licensees promptly to streamline the examination process. Adhering to established examination protocols to assess the operations and compliance of regulated entities, drawing accurate conclusions from the gathered data. Identifying and summarizing violations of law, internal procedures, and overall business practices for discussion with management during examination exit meetings. Drafting examination reports as directed by the EIC, ensuring accuracy, grammatical correctness, logical structure, and factual support for conclusions. Investigating consumer complaints as assigned and proposing appropriate actions. Executing additional tasks as required by the Regional Manager, Director of Examinations, Deputy Commissioner, or Bank Commissioner. Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree (transcripts required)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Personal mobile device capable of utilizing multi-factor authentication applications as necessary.

Travel Requirements:

In-state and out-of-state travel. Up to 25% overnight travel. Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a closely related field. Relevant work experience in the financial or regulatory sector.

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

Valid State of Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is required in accordance with Executive Order. Completion of a background and credit check.
