Position Title: Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball

Reports To: Head Coach of Men's Basketball

Status: Salaried, Exempt


Position Summary:

The Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball plays a vital role in supporting the Head Coach in executing all necessary activities to fulfill the goals of the basketball program, adhering to the standards set by the NCAA and the university. This position involves coaching student-athletes, recruiting talent, overseeing academic performance, managing logistics, and ensuring the discipline and representation of the student-athletes are upheld.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in various facets of the basketball program, including training, practice organization, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, and scouting activities.
  • Monitor and support the academic achievements of the basketball team.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of game day operations for basketball events.
  • Assist in logistical planning regarding scheduling, travel arrangements, and supervision of student-athletes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head Coach.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • The candidate must be enrolled in one of the designated Graduate Programs.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, along with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills is essential.
  • Experience as a collegiate student-athlete is preferred, or a minimum of two years of coaching experience is required.

Compensation:

  • Tuition assistance covering 18 credit hours (typically 6 courses) per academic year.
  • An annual stipend of $5,000.
