Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated individuals to officiate games, engage with players to boost their skills, and assist in setting up and running events. As a referee, you will be responsible for ensuring fair play and adhering to the rules and regulations of the sport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Officiate sports games with fairness and integrity, ensuring adherence to the rules and regulations of the sport.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to players during games, emphasizing skill development and sportsmanship.
• Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere for players, encouraging teamwork, respect, and healthy competition.
• Actively engage with players, offering personalized coaching to help them improve their game strategies and techniques.
• Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor, serving as a role model for young athletes both on and off the court.
• Collaborate with other referees and coaches to ensure smooth game operations and effective communication.
• Carefully set up and break down venues, demonstrating consideration to maintain positive relationships with the venue.

Qualifications:

• Lift/carry a minimum of 35lb
• Can commit to full weekend work
• Prior experience in officiating basketball games or relevant sports activities
• Strong understanding of basketball rules and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with young athletes
• Passion for mentoring and coaching youth players, fostering their personal and athletic development
• Ability to remain composed and make quick, fair decisions in high-pressure game situations
• Commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship and fair play
