Position Overview

KIPP Columbus is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Coach for our Middle School Volleyball Program. This role is essential in guiding our student athletes through their volleyball journey, ensuring both their athletic and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coaching Excellence: Utilize diverse instructional methods to enhance the skills of student athletes. Supervise practices and competitions to foster growth in athletic abilities, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Student Development: Collaborate with school staff to set educational goals for student athletes, ensuring they meet eligibility criteria for participation in extracurricular activities.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate with the Senior Associate of Athletics to schedule events and maintain open communication with families and staff, ensuring a cohesive team environment.
  • Safety and Operations: Implement safety measures to protect student athletes and manage equipment and facilities efficiently.
  • General Duties: Participate in professional development and contribute to the overall success of the athletics program.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, including integrity, effective communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Required qualifications include:

  • Experience in coaching at the middle school level or higher.
  • Proven ability to organize and implement athletic programs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Possession of a valid coaching permit and completion of necessary health and safety training.
