Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled professional to take on a senior role within our Financial Services Department at Booth & Associates, LLC. This position is pivotal in guiding our financial operations and strategies related to municipal utilities and electric cooperatives.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will encompass a variety of financial and advisory tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Developing, reviewing, and enhancing financial models using Excel and Access.
  • Conducting and overseeing comprehensive cost-of-service analyses.
  • Formulating utility pricing structures.
  • Assisting in the development of financial forecasts and strategic planning.
  • Performing cost/benefit evaluations.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations to stakeholders.
  • Providing expert testimony as required.

This position will report directly to the Vice President of Financial Services and may involve overseeing the work of others as deemed necessary.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following:

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proven ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong time management skills across various projects.
  • A comprehensive understanding of utility pricing, cost allocation methods, and regulatory accounting standards.
  • Awareness of current technological, market, and commercial trends impacting the utility sector.
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain long-term advisory relationships, actively engaging in industry networks.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in utility finance or related fields.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or mathematics; CPA or MBA credentials are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and other MS Office applications.
  • Experience in the utility sector is essential.
