S&ME, Inc. is seeking a motivated and committed full-time Lead Financial Analyst to become part of our Corporate Finance team at our Headquarters.


Role Responsibilities:

The Lead Financial Analyst position is tailored for an experienced individual to oversee a wide array of financial operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including:

  • General Financial Management: Responsible for executing account reconciliations, crafting journal entries, managing general ledger accruals, and supervising month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Financial Reporting & Insights: Involves generating financial statements, offering expert guidance during annual budget preparation, and contributing to financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Tax Compliance & Management: Engages in local tax submissions, filing sales and use tax returns, preparing annual property tax documents, and ensuring compliance for ESOP and 401k plans at year-end.
  • Asset & Cash Oversight: Duties include managing fixed assets and lease agreements, conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting cash flow, and maintaining inventory schedules.
  • Budgeting & Strategic Development: Assists in the annual budgeting process, assesses potential acquisitions, and provides financial training and support to team members.
  • Audit Support & Process Enhancement: Responsible for aiding audits, reviewing and refining processes and internal controls, and developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Leadership & Communication: Involves preparing materials for board meetings, addressing discrepancies with senior management, and driving outcomes that align with the organization's strategic objectives.

Candidate Profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software applications
