Lead Financial Analyst

The Lead Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in fostering a high-performing finance team. This position is essential for ensuring that the financial operations align with our strategic goals. The role reports directly to the Finance Manager.

As a Lead Financial Analyst, you will be accountable for guaranteeing that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reflect the company's financial health. You will support departmental initiatives with a focus on ensuring compliance with fiscal policies and regulations.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports
  • Maintain and oversee asset management records, including acquisitions and disposals
  • Prepare reconciliations for general ledger accounts to ensure precise financial reporting
  • Compile and submit sales tax documentation as required
  • Calculate and distribute monthly commissions and quarterly royalties
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and practices
  • Meet all financial reporting deadlines
  • Investigate variances in financial statements
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Implement and monitor accounting control procedures
  • Resolve discrepancies and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Propose enhancements to existing processes
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in financial operations
Daily Responsibilities
  • Process sales tax documentation as received
  • Update financial systems with relevant tax information
  • Manage fixed asset requests and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure timely closure of financial transactions
  • Collaborate with team members on bank reconciliations and journal entries as needed
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation for financial audits
  • Support sales and use tax audits
  • Conduct periodic inventory assessments and bank audits
  • Facilitate the integration of future acquisitions
  • Contribute to projects related to organizational restructuring
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
As a Lead Financial Analyst, you will possess:
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools
  • Strong ability to interpret technical information and draft various documents
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards
  • Familiarity with standard office practices and regulations
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex financial data
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP)
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft applications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Five to seven years of experience in a financial role
  • Experience in both public and private sectors preferred
  • Background in manufacturing or related industries preferred
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Proficiency in financial software and technology
  • Experience in managing the monthly closing process required
  • Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • Capability to present information clearly to various stakeholders
