Job Overview

Position Summary:

The HR Strategic Partner plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Regional Manager (RM), District Managers (DM), and the regional team to deliver comprehensive support in various HR functions such as employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, coaching, counseling, training, and succession planning. This role is essential in ensuring equitable practices for all employees while aligning with the overarching vision and mission of FirstCash.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster proactive relationships with RM, DM, store management, and support teams, overseeing approximately pawn shops and 1,000+ employees.
  • Collaborate with RM, DM, and store management to inspire and effectively manage their teams.
  • Provide strategic input and guidance on people-related matters within assigned regions.
  • Offer daily performance management support to line managers and engage in training and development initiatives.
  • Assist operations managers in navigating organizational and personnel changes.
  • Devise strategic approaches to enhance the connection between company leadership and employees.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Act as a talent management specialist, ensuring recognition and growth opportunities for high-performing individuals.
  • Anticipate talent needs and future recruitment strategies in collaboration with RM and DM.
  • Partner with recruiters and management to address staffing strategies and recruitment needs.
  • Provide guidance to team members on HR-related issues, facilitating mediation when necessary.
  • Serve as a neutral resource for employees regarding HR matters, offering support and assistance as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding processes as required.
  • Manage employment-related inquiries for the region.
  • Contribute to updates of the Employee Handbook, LOA guide, HR forms, and policies.
  • Collaborate with the Compensation team to provide advice on compensation-related issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role or similar capacity.
  • 1-3 years of management experience, preferably in a multi-unit setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment in applying policies and procedures consistently.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

Physical / Work Posture Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to move around the office to access necessary equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent use of a computer and office machinery.
  • Effective communication of information and ideas.
  • Ability to observe details closely.

Work Hours: HR Strategic Partners typically work 40+ hours per week, generally Monday through Friday, with hours varying based on the needs of the retail business.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting with required travel as assigned.
  • After-hours and weekend availability may be necessary due to employee needs.
  • Generally quiet work environment with potential exposure to dust and temperature fluctuations.
