Job Overview

Position Overview:


As an HR Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting various Human Resource functions to achieve strategic, tactical, and administrative HR objectives.

Effective communication with Senior Management and across different support departments is essential. Your expertise in employee relations and strong analytical skills will be instrumental in advancing HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure consistent application of all Company HR policies.
Provide objective coaching to associates and management through complex and challenging issues. Offer guidance to management regarding appropriate disciplinary actions. Assist with on-site investigations.
Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process for hourly positions through MyOpportunity.
Maintain and coordinate associate recognition programs.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
Regularly generate and review HR activity reports.
Support the internal customer survey and associate engagement survey interpretation and feedback process.
Participate in department manager meetings to enhance HR visibility, conduct training sessions, and implement HR initiatives.
Review requests for pay increases or status changes to ensure internal equity and consistency. Process status change forms.
Prepare, coordinate, and present HR-related topics and training sessions.

Act as a champion for diversity by leading assigned tasks and corporate diversity initiatives, including diversity recruiting, retention, and promotion goals.

Assist in developing Personal Development Plans for associates as needed.
Engage in the Annual Performance Appraisal process.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
PHR or SPHR certification is strongly preferred.
A minimum of three years of experience as a human resources generalist is required; management experience is a plus.
Experience in a large, multi-unit organization is necessary.
Prior experience in a centralized HR environment, preferably within a corporate setting, is essential.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; advanced skills are preferred.
Knowledge of employment law, policies, procedures, and programs is required.
Experience in problem-solving, data collection, fact establishment, and drawing valid conclusions is necessary.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
Strong presentation skills are required.
Training certification is a plus (e.g., Zenger-Miller, Stephen Covey, etc.).
