Job Summary

American Track is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Coordinator to support the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Coordinator will play a critical role in maintaining efficient HR operations, managing employee records, and ensuring compliance with the company's policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to applicants and employees, answering frequently asked questions and referring more complex questions to senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Assist personnel administrators and other HR staff with clerical support and special projects as needed.
  • Disseminate HR-related information to employees, including policy updates, announcements, and resources.
  • Track, monitor, and relay outstanding applications to determine hire/rejection status with hiring managers.
  • Assist with job postings, applicant tracking, and scheduling interviews.
  • Work with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.
  • Facilitate and monitor the entire onboarding process for all hires to ensure completion of new hire and rehire related employee documents.
  • Process and onboard new hires and rehires in the company's HRIS.
  • Conduct or assist with new hire orientation.
  • Generate reports on HR metrics, trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in an administrative role required.
  • Previous HR experience highly desired.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Paylocity and/or CmiC experience preferred.
  • Railroad or construction experience is a plus.
