POSITION: Human Resources Coordinator

LOCATION: Remote

SUMMARY: Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) is in search of a Human Resources Coordinator to undertake a variety of administrative tasks and provide assistance across multiple human resources functions.

ROLE DESCRIPTION: LANWT is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering high-quality civil legal services to low-income individuals across numerous counties. The organization employs a diverse workforce, including both unionized and non-unionized personnel, and is committed to maintaining a supportive work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Human Resources Coordinator will be integral to the HR team, focusing on recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll processing, and training initiatives. Specific duties include:

  • Facilitating onboarding and offboarding processes, including managing job postings, processing applications, and ensuring adherence to established procedures.
  • Overseeing candidate communications, including scheduling interviews and conducting background checks.
  • Preparing new hire documentation and coordinating orientation sessions for new employees.
  • Managing employee benefits programs, including vendor interactions and maintaining accurate benefit records.
  • Processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy in timecard submissions and data entry.
  • Maintaining compliance with I-9 regulations and organizing employee personnel files.
  • Providing clerical support to the HR department, including data entry and document preparation.
  • Coordinating logistics for meetings, events, and training sessions.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of new HR tools and processes.
  • Building positive relationships with staff and management to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Supporting special projects and additional tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within a Human Resources context.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Dependable with a consistent attendance record.
