Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at the HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-package and label unit-dose and multiple dose medication orders
  • Operate unit-dose packaging system and other mechanical equipment to pre-pack and label bulk medications into unit-dose packages for distribution within the facility
  • Ensure generic name, strength, lot and expiration date of drug are properly recorded on the label and log records
  • Work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and is responsible to a pharmacist, as defined in Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Title 22, Part 15, Chapter 291, Subchapter D, Rule §291.72
Requirements
  • Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Working Conditions

Works in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines. May be required to work in a confined space or with hazardous materials.
