Job Overview

The Purchasing Specialist will play a crucial role in managing procurement processes and ensuring the efficient delivery of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies to production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Management:

  • Oversee non-disclosure agreements and insurance certificates for a diverse supplier base.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new suppliers and manage change requests effectively.
  • Conduct part cleanup activities within the inventory management system.
  • Analyze stock-out reports to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Support for MRO Replenishment:

  • Monitor order fulfillment and expedite as necessary.
  • Review order confirmations and address discrepancies.
  • Evaluate purchase price variance reports and assist in resolving issues.
  • Coordinate information requests with vendors regarding procurement needs.

Invoice Management:

  • Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies related to production materials.
  • Provide guidance to internal users on invoice resolution processes.

International Shipping Coordination:

  • Prepare necessary documentation for international shipments.
  • Assist in gathering parts for shipping from the inventory.

Repair Process Oversight:

  • Investigate returned repairs and manage inventory adjustments.
  • Prepare items for return shipment to suppliers.
  • Conduct monthly inventory checks to track repairs.

Inventory Management:

  • Conduct daily cycle counts and manage raw materials inventory.
  • Assist in relocating inventory to optimize storage efficiency.

Required Skills:

  • Proactive and reliable with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Education:

A minimum of a two-year degree is preferred, though relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
