This position entails overseeing all culinary production operations.
Reporting to a senior executive, the ideal candidate will collaborate closely with a team of managers and supervise a workforce of approximately 98 union employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Culinary Operations: Direct food production processes across multiple facilities, ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery.
- Collaboration with Culinary Teams: Work alongside culinary professionals to implement menus crafted by our in-house chefs, ensuring consistency and quality across all service points.
- Manufacturing Process Implementation: Establish efficient production methods while adhering to regulatory standards and quality assurance protocols.
- Facilities Oversight: Manage all aspects of food production facilities, including kitchens, equipment, and storage.
- Maintenance Coordination: Ensure operational efficiency through regular maintenance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Client Engagement and Strategic Planning: Serve as the main liaison for client interactions, addressing inquiries and identifying areas for enhancement.
- Financial Oversight: Take charge of financial management, ensuring effective resource allocation and budget adherence.
- Union Employee Relations: Navigate the complexities of managing unionized staff, fostering positive labor relations, and ensuring compliance with agreements.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale food production, ideally within healthcare or institutional environments.
- Strong culinary foundation with expertise in menu planning and food service operations.
- Knowledge of facilities management, including kitchen equipment and safety protocols.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Financial expertise with experience in budget management and cost efficiency initiatives.
- Experience with unionized labor dynamics.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
