Position Overview

Are you passionate about influencing the future of Indoor Geographic Information Systems (GIS)? This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a product in a rapidly evolving field, encompassing solutions for Desktop, Server, Web, Cloud, and Mobile platforms. As a Product Engineer on the Indoor GIS team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding organizations as they leverage Indoor GIS for various applications such as space management, workspace reservation, wayfinding, asset tracking, and location sharing. In this capacity, you will utilize your GIS expertise and user engagement to define software functionalities, conduct testing, develop user assistance materials, and facilitate market introduction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Managers to identify software backlog requirements, set priorities, and outline release themes.
  • Draft Scrum user stories that articulate new feature capabilities, guiding the software development lifecycle.
  • Present software functionalities during iteration and stakeholder review sessions, incorporating feedback into product backlogs.
  • Act as the primary contact for the development team regarding acceptance criteria for ongoing feature development.
  • Contribute to user interface design for tools and features being developed in ArcGIS Pro.
  • Create and execute test plans; develop and manage testing datasets (including N-path testing, acceptance testing, and regression testing).
  • Develop automated testing procedures.
  • Produce user guide documentation.
  • Serve as a technical liaison to practice teams and solution engineers.
  • Conduct technical reviews of user guide documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in software development, GIS, IT, or architecture/AEC.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro; familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise, Online, and Mobile platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of GIS data management practices.
  • Knowledge of Indoor GIS concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, information systems, IT, geography, computer science, or a related STEM field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or knowledge in the following areas:
    • Working within a software development team utilizing the Scrum methodology.
    • Handling 3D data - CAD/Autodesk, BIM/REVIT.
    • Testing and formulating test plans.
    • Creating user assistance materials and user stories.
    • Serving as a Scrum Product Owner.
    • Utilizing building scanning technologies and methodologies.
    • Managing Enterprise Geodatabases (SQL Server, Oracle) and multi-user editing environments.
    • Data modeling and spatial analysis.
    • Programming in Python.
