Responsibilities

  • Establish Connections: Engage, demonstrate, and assist in promoting Esri software and solutions as part of the account team. Cultivate relationships with technical decision-makers and lead discussions that enhance revenue generation.
  • Be a Specialist: Serve as a technical authority on Esri technology and a subject matter expert in local government. Exhibit a deep understanding of sales strategies to formulate complex solutions for Esri's most significant clients. Comprehend organizational structures, workflows, third-party systems, and integration points. Share expertise and mentor new team members on best practices.
  • Address Challenges: Proactively develop and propose solutions that illustrate how GIS delivers business value by tackling critical issues faced by our clients. Define and implement intricate strategies that align Esri technology with the business requirements of our largest customers.
  • Communicate Our Vision: Create presentations tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences within Esri's major clients. Provide guidance on configurations and best practices. Represent Esri at significant conferences and executive events.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Esri technology, including map creation, spatial analysis, and web application configuration; 3+ years in state or local government.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ArcGIS within an IT framework (covering hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing).
  • Proven experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design.
  • Familiarity with sales and business development processes.
  • Ability to resolve client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture.
  • Experience with geodatabases and associated DBMS technology.
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and environments (such as Microsoft Azure or AWS).
  • Experience integrating software solutions with various business systems, including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, including Python and JavaScript.
  • Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time.
  • Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or a related field.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; applicants must be authorized to work for any employer.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience integrating real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of digitalization strategies, including mobile, IoT, advanced analytics, data science (AI/ML), and imagery.
  • Master's degree in geography, computer science, or a related field.
