Supply Chain Procurement Lead

Job Overview:

The Supply Chain Procurement Lead will collaborate closely with the Director of Procurement to identify and acquire essential raw materials for the production of Rowe Casa Organics products, particularly in the areas of curing and kitchen supplies. This role involves mentoring procurement and inventory specialists, ensuring a seamless purchasing process while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the current inventory of raw materials.
  • Evaluate departmental processes for potential enhancements and innovations.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to select and procure raw materials, making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Assist in predicting current and future purchasing trends.
  • Guide the procurement team in strategic purchasing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Director to establish inventory objectives.
  • Initiate discussions regarding Supply Agreements with top suppliers alongside the Procurement Director.
  • Engage with Product Development and quality assurance, providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Assess financial risks associated with purchases and communicate any changes to management.
  • Coordinate with production schedulers to align work orders.
  • Process purchase orders for raw materials with ongoing oversight.
  • Keep management informed about issues, changes, and delays in deliveries.
  • Organize the transportation of goods and monitor orders to ensure timely arrivals.
  • Work in conjunction with the inventory and receiving teams as needed.
  • Participate in evaluating quality concerns for stock items and escalate discrepancies to suppliers and management.
  • Coordinate with sourcing teams on new product requests.
  • Continuously review departmental processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Experience with MRP systems is advantageous.
  • Strong typing skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Positive and adaptable attitude.
  • Strong critical thinking and leadership capabilities.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team with effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is required.
  • Logistics experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
