Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the management of records related to the procurement, receipt, storage, distribution, and dispatch of materials, supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and analyze data from various sources such as purchase orders, invoices, and accounting reports to ensure adherence to compliance and auditing standards.
  • Input data into the inventory management system to ensure the accuracy of inventory, purchasing, and shipping records.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and security audits as scheduled, comparing results with system data and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Compile stock control information, including consumption rates and inventory characteristics, to assess stock levels and identify replenishment needs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management regarding inventory levels, item statuses, and product management.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and orders for new stock items, suggesting additions or removals of products as needed.
  • Verify the accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders by comparing them with catalogs and manuals.
  • Communicate necessary changes to inventory management systems and relevant departments.
  • Ensure product tagging and signage are accurate and complete, initiating corrective actions when required.
  • Collaborate with corporate and store personnel to maintain compliance with control and audit systems.
  • Assist customers and colleagues with inquiries regarding product availability and usage.
  • Maintain inventory displays to merchandising standards through stocking, organizing, and cleaning as needed.
  • Investigate discrepancies in store orders and propose solutions.
  • Operate forklifts and perform daily inspections, including maintaining service logs.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Capability to follow instructions independently.
  • Understanding of weight distribution and loading techniques.
  • Proficient in operating machinery and vehicles with precision.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet business demands.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift operator certification is required.
  • Completion of on-the-job training is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and move around the facility for extended periods.
  • Must be able to safely enter and exit vehicles and forklifts.
  • Capability to lift up to 80 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements for extended durations.
