Position Overview:

The Powersports Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing the ordering and delivery of mass production components through effective planning, communication, and supplier collaboration. This role requires technical acumen and problem-solving abilities to mitigate operational disruptions and support departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee supplier management, including daily orders, confirmation of receipt, performance evaluation, and project improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and nurture communication channels with suppliers to foster positive relationships focused on delivery efficiency.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate critical issues to management to ensure timely resource allocation. Manage expedited shipments as necessary.
  • Continuously enhance communication networks, both internally and externally, to ensure operational success and departmental awareness.
  • Collaborate with project leaders across departments to support all designated mass production initiatives and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work with other departments and experts to develop or enhance characteristics that minimize departmental impact.
  • Manage design change activities for new models and mass production to ensure quality and reduce production costs.
  • Conduct reporting and Gemba activities for root cause analysis and implement countermeasures to resolve complex issues.
  • Pursue continuous improvement through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle within your area of responsibility to ensure team success.
  • Enhance the capabilities of yourself and your colleagues through training, mentoring, and sharing expertise for succession planning and team development.
  • Support the company’s vision through the execution of business plans, special projects, and departmental initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field without a degree; or no experience required with a relevant degree.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of basic inventory management and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex issues in a collaborative environment.
  • Consistently identify opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Ability to collect data and apply business insights to address various challenges.
  • Effectively lead project initiatives and secure buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
