Vice President of Waterpark Operations

Schedule Requirements: Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate operational needs.
The Vice President of Waterpark Operations is accountable for the comprehensive management of the operations division. This role entails providing visionary leadership and strategic direction across all sub-departments, ensuring a robust safety and service culture while enhancing operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. The position involves overseeing the management team and aligning departmental goals with key objectives such as safety, guest contentment, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Operations department, including Aquatics, Park Services, Fast Lane, Trams, Park Housekeeping, Creative Services, and Parking.
- Guarantee adherence to operational controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and service standards daily.
- Lead significant departmental initiatives, including capital projects, customer service enhancements, and staff training and development programs.
- Address guest and employee concerns effectively, ensuring service recovery processes are in place.
- Provide strong leadership and support to all team members.
- Engage with the public, customers, employees, vendors, and local authorities with professionalism and courtesy.
- Organize and plan the work of direct reports and their teams, promoting safe practices and a positive work environment.
- Oversee the preparation and achievement of the department's annual operating budgets, ensuring profitability through revenue-generating initiatives and cost management.
- Manage procurement processes for the department's operational supplies, equipment, and third-party service contracts.
- Play an active role in staffing, ensuring leadership is training and maintaining appropriate staffing levels across all departments. Develop training manuals and oversee the training of new hires, as well as ongoing education for existing staff.
- Support Unit 1 shift coverage, being responsible for overall park operations, including staffing levels and guest experiences.
Qualifications:
- Flexibility in work hours and days is essential. Off-season hours typically Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with evening, weekend, and holiday availability required during peak operational periods.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A valid State Commercial Driver's License and proof of personal vehicle insurance are mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to frequently sit, engage in repetitive hand motions (such as typing), hear, listen, communicate, walk, stand, bend, climb stairs/ladders, and navigate uneven surfaces.
- Occasional stooping, twisting, crouching, crawling, kneeling, balancing, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions, including rain, direct/indirect sunlight, and heat for extended periods.
- Must maintain alertness in high-stress situations and be able to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
