Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of banquet services.
  • Conduct regular inventory control assessments.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor banquet staff to foster a unified and effective team.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing levels to meet the demands of all events.
  • Participate in weekly meetings regarding food and beverage services.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, guests, and catering personnel to create memorable events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute catering functions from inception to completion, ensuring exceptional quality of service.
  • Manage client relationships and decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate with culinary and service teams to ensure seamless banquet operations.
  • Maintain a strong record of adhering to budgetary constraints while exceeding guest expectations.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of food, wine, and spirits.
  • Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional guest service skills are essential.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Must demonstrate a customer service orientation and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Ability to navigate a challenging environment while handling sensitive issues and maintaining confidentiality, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to maintain professional and effective working relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Proficient in Windows and MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with experience in database management. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and other documentation as needed.

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

  • Must obtain and maintain a Class A gaming license.
  • Must acquire and maintain ServSafe certification and a Washington State Food Handlers card.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position may involve lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly. Daily repetitive movements are expected, along with occasional bending and crouching. While there are no adverse conditions, employees may be exposed to tobacco smoke regularly. This is a 24/7 operational environment.
