Job Overview

JavaVino is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Line Cook to join our team in La Crosse, Wisconsin. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supervising food preparation activities, ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, and training junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the head cook in preparing entrées and advising line cooks on portion sizes.
  • Ensure food items are stored at the correct temperatures and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Train and supervise line cooks to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the head cook to develop menus and ensure consistency in food quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Food handler's license (ServSafe certified) or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
