The Culinary Service Associate will be assigned various responsibilities and is expected to adhere to established operational procedures while ensuring a clean and organized workspace. Responsibilities may differ based on the specific Culinary Service Associate roles available.
The Culinary Service Associate engages with customers at food stations, assisting in food preparation, processing orders, serving patrons, and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and service areas.
Key Responsibilities1. Uphold the College's core values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is mandatory.
2. Execute administrative tasks, which may include responding to inquiries from customers and staff, creating and modifying documents and reports using standard software, maintaining filing systems, monitoring inventory and budget details, and coordinating meeting materials.
3. Complete all mandatory training and maintain the necessary skills to fulfill the essential functions of the role as defined by the department.
4. Student Success is integral to Western's culture, and employees may be assigned to various areas or additional duties as needed to support this mission.
5. Stir Fry Cook Responsibilities:
Stir-fry cooks are tasked with opening the station daily, preparing rice, stocking supplies, portioning ingredients for stir-fry orders, taking orders, maintaining a clean workspace, and serving the chef's special of the day.
6. Line Worker Duties at Erbert's and Gerbert's:
Line workers are responsible for adhering to franchise guidelines for product preparation and service, including preparing ingredients, making sandwiches, taking orders via tablet, working the burrito line, completing product planning sheets, and ensuring cleanliness.
7. Burrito Line Worker Responsibilities:
Burrito line workers are responsible for stocking and preparing products, serving customers, and maintaining a tidy workspace. They must also be trained to assist in the Erbert's and Gerbert's sandwich line.
8. Cashier Duties:
Cashiers at Union Market handle transactions, manage the POS system, restock the Grab-n-go cooler, and maintain cleanliness in beverage, soup, cash stand, and salad bar areas.
9. Assistant Deep Fry/Grill Cook Responsibilities:
Deep Fryer and Grill Cooks are responsible for cooking items to management specifications, maintaining the hot food slider, and assisting with product stocking and preparation.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
