Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our team at Community Memorial Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient insurance referrals and prior authorizations, ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and manage patient insurance referrals and prior authorizations, coordinating appointments and scheduling needs as necessary.
  • Ensure timely completion and transmission of necessary reports and test results to referring providers.
  • Participate in meetings with healthcare teams to discuss patient care and referral processes.
  • Provide education and training to colleagues on referral processes and best practices.
  • Assist patients in obtaining durable medical equipment and home health care services ordered by primary care providers.
  • Collaborate with patients and healthcare providers to ensure referral loops are closed and patient needs are met.
  • Provide reception coverage as needed, including greeting patients, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or relevant experience in the medical field.
  • Previous experience working with insurance companies, durable medical equipment providers, and home health care organizations.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
