Key Responsibilities:
- The Care Coordinator will be regionally focused, acting as a knowledgeable resource for benefit coordination and various support services, managing interactions with healthcare providers and patients.
- Will advocate for patients by clarifying eligibility criteria, assisting with program enrollment, and providing affordability support for prescribed therapies.
- Builds and nurtures relationships with healthcare providers and patients to foster trust and rapport.
- Acts as the primary contact for healthcare providers, delivering comprehensive information about programs and patient needs.
- Possesses a strong understanding of benefits across all payer types, including private, commercial, and government programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and DOD), with a focus on Medicare Part B.
- Effectively navigates payer challenges by posing relevant questions to achieve desired outcomes.
- Serves as a liaison to client contacts, including regional representatives.
- Maintains accurate records in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Adheres to program guidelines and escalates complex cases as per established procedures.
- Facilitates communication between Program Management, internal stakeholders, and healthcare providers.
- Delivers exceptional customer service, emphasizing attention to detail while representing the brand and program effectively.
- Collaborates with Program Management to ensure open communication regarding patient status, provider feedback, and program efficiency.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the disease states affecting program patients.
- Evaluates situations to intervene appropriately and ensure timely resolutions.
- Upholds high ethical standards and professional conduct regarding confidentiality and privacy.
- Contributes to team morale by consistently exhibiting a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Utilizes available resources for conflict resolution as necessary.
- Identifies and reports pharmacovigilance information as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by Program Management.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years in reimbursement, insurance, healthcare billing, or related fields; or a High School diploma with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in a Call Center or customer service role with increasing responsibilities in a service-oriented environment is essential.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Strong understanding of prior authorization processes and appeals is necessary.
- Familiarity with medical and pharmacy insurance terminology and reimbursement processes is preferred.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities are essential.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to follow-through in communications with patients, providers, and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills are a must.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to adapt to change while maintaining program standards.
