Job Summary

MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Hospitalist team at our 93-bed acute care facility. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality, cost-effective medical care to patients, working under the supervision of our Medical Director and reporting directly on clinical issues and activities related to patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality medical care to patients, adhering to established medical protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary care team to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in inpatient medicine.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures related to patient care.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program or graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner training program with training in inpatient medicine.
  • State of Maine license as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (APRN-C) required.
  • DEA Number is required.
  • NCCPA or ANCC certification is required.
  • BLS is required within 3 months of hire.
  • ACLS is preferred within 6 months of hire.
  • Training and/or experience in inpatient care required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, effective time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of health care management and the hospital care environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic medical record systems.
