In this role, you will be actively pursuing certification as a Radiologic Technologist or MRI Technologist by completing the necessary educational and clinical training. While undergoing training as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist, you will operate assigned scanners to generate diagnostic images of patients under direct supervision. Your approach will be patient-centered, delivering MRI services that adhere to professional standards while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Technologist Support

  • Adjust patient schedules as needed and communicate changes to all technologists.
  • Welcome and guide patients to changing rooms, providing brief explanations of procedures.
  • Prepare patient jackets and organize films in the appropriate order.
  • Assist technologists in setting up rooms between patients, including managing equipment and linens.
  • Help maintain timely operations by preparing the next patient before the current one concludes.
  • Restore and network previous exams for returning patients the following day.

Patient Imaging with Supervision

  • Screen patients for any precautions or contraindications before exams, using two identifiers for accuracy.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients, ensuring they are positioned correctly and supported throughout.
  • Conduct routine MRI procedures on specified body parts for diagnostic purposes, minimizing repeats while providing patient support.
  • Perform advanced MRI procedures with guidance and supervision.
  • Adjust MRI scan parameters as necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and colleagues.
  • Adhere strictly to physicians' orders and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keep work areas organized and clean, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain equipment in optimal condition, cleaning and disinfecting after each use.
  • Follow all HIPAA guidelines diligently.

Cleaning & Organization

  • Stock and clean work and control areas, as well as MRI rooms.
  • Ensure all patient areas are well-stocked and organized.
  • Maintain cleanliness in patient prep rooms and restrooms.
  • Manage linen supplies and laundry at the end of shifts.
  • Organize supply closets and computer rooms effectively.
  • Maintain the radiologist reading area after hours.
  • Coordinate with MRI technologists and other departments for additional tasks as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
