Job Overview

RAYUS Radiology, previously known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is seeking a dedicated Technologist Assistant/Technologist in Training. This role is pivotal in enhancing the efficiency of our radiology services, ensuring that imaging procedures are conducted smoothly and effectively. As a Technologist Assistant/Technologist in Training, your primary responsibility will be to support technologists in maintaining an organized and timely workflow in the scanning area. You will be actively pursuing certification as a Radiologic Technologist or MRI Technologist through the completion of necessary education and clinical training. Under the direct supervision of experienced professionals, you will operate MRI scanners to capture diagnostic images of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Technologist Support

  • Oversee MRI, CT, arthrogram, and x-ray schedules.
  • Adjust patient appointments as needed and keep all technologists informed of any changes.
  • Welcome and guide patients to changing rooms, providing a brief overview of the procedure.
  • Prepare patient jackets and organize films in the appropriate jackets by date and number.
  • Assist technologists in setting up rooms between patients, including proper coil placement and changing table linens.
  • Help maintain the schedule by preparing the next patient before the current one completes their exam.
  • Restore and network previous exams for returning patients the following day.

Patient Imaging Assistance

  • Screen patients prior to exams for any precautions or contraindications, using two identifiers to ensure accuracy.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients, ensuring they are positioned correctly for optimal scanning.
  • Conduct routine MRI procedures on designated body parts for diagnostic purposes, providing support and reassurance to patients throughout.
  • Perform advanced MRI procedures with appropriate supervision.
  • Adjust MRI scan parameters as necessary.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and colleagues.
  • Follow physician orders precisely and adhere to safety regulations to protect patients and staff.
  • Accurately document patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition, cleaning and disinfecting after each use.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.

Cleaning and Organization

  • Stock and clean work areas and MRI rooms.
  • Ensure all patient areas are organized and tidy.
  • Maintain cleanliness in patient prep rooms and restrooms.
  • Manage linen supplies and laundry at the end of shifts.
  • Organize supply closets and computer rooms.
  • Prepare the radiologist reading area after use.
  • Coordinate with MRI technologists and other departments for additional tasks as needed.

Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
