Job Overview

RAYUS Radiology, previously known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is seeking a dedicated Technologist Assistant/Technologist in Training. This role is pivotal in transforming the field of radiology, making it an essential component in diagnosis and treatment pathways. As a Technologist Assistant/Technologist in Training, your primary responsibility will be to support technologists in maintaining efficient operations and ensuring a smooth workflow in the imaging area.

Key Responsibilities:

Technologist Support

  • Oversee MRI, CT, arthrogram, and x-ray schedules.
  • Adjust patient appointments as needed and communicate changes to all technologists.
  • Welcome and guide patients to changing areas, providing a brief overview of procedures.
  • Prepare patient jackets and organize films according to date and identification number.
  • Assist technologists in preparing rooms between patient appointments, including setting up and storing equipment.
  • Facilitate timely patient transitions by preparing the next patient while the current one is being processed.
  • Restore and organize previous exams for returning patients the following day.

Patient Imaging Assistance

  • Screen patients prior to exams for any precautions or contraindications, ensuring correct identification.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients, positioning them appropriately and providing reassurance throughout the process.
  • Conduct routine MRI procedures on specified body areas, ensuring minimal supervision and repeat scans, while maintaining patient engagement.
  • Perform advanced MRI procedures under guidance and supervision.
  • Adjust MRI scan parameters as necessary to achieve optimal results.
  • Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring professionals, and colleagues.
  • Adhere strictly to physician directives and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keep work areas organized and clean, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain equipment functionality, including cleaning and disinfecting after each use.
  • Uphold all HIPAA regulations.

Cleaning and Organization Duties

  • Stock and clean work and control areas, including MRI rooms.
  • Ensure all patient areas are well-stocked and organized.
  • Maintain cleanliness in patient preparation and restroom facilities.
  • Manage linen supplies and laundry at the end of shifts.
  • Organize supply closets and computer areas.
  • Prepare the radiologist reading area after daily operations conclude.
  • Coordinate with MRI technologists and other departments for additional tasks as required.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
