Role Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned Senior Commercial Lending Specialist with a focus on construction and renovation financing. In this role, you will be integral to our lending operations, driving the growth of our portfolio by originating and finalizing commercial real estate loans. Your specialization in construction and renovation financing will be essential in evaluating loan submissions, articulating the New Silver value proposition, analyzing collateral, and structuring transactions that align with our risk framework. Furthermore, your ability to deliver outstanding customer service and cultivate strong relationships with clients and partners will be vital for your success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate and underwrite commercial real estate loans, focusing on construction and renovation financing with a goal of $5M in closed loans monthly.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of loan applications, applicant qualifications, credit histories, and other pertinent documentation to determine eligibility.
  • Assess collateral properties to ascertain their market value, condition, and associated risks.
  • Structure loan agreements, including terms, interest rates, fees, and repayment schedules, in compliance with company policies and risk management guidelines.
  • Collaborate with clients, real estate investors, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, address questions, and provide support throughout the lending process.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service by proactively communicating with clients, offering regular updates on loan status, and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Manage a pipeline of loan applications, ensuring timely follow-up and adherence to closing timelines while meeting productivity metrics.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics related to commercial real estate lending, particularly in the hard money and private money sectors.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of loan origination processes, systems, and strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, referral partners, and industry professionals to create new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Commercial Lending Specialist, with a focus on commercial or construction financing.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial real estate lending principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in originating and closing hard money and private money loans.
  • Strong analytical and underwriting skills, with the capability to evaluate creditworthiness and collateral risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, remote work environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Self-driven and motivated to achieve and surpass lending targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Proficient in loan origination systems, CRMs, and other relevant software applications.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in real estate lending (e.g., NMLS) are advantageous.
