Compensation Overview
The salary range for this position reflects a national market range and encompasses a wide array of salaries for this role across the country. The actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including the complexity and scope of the role, the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, experience, and other employment conditions. Our comprehensive compensation and benefits program also includes eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
As a Business Rules Solutions Architect, you will spearhead the initiative to develop the next generation of business rules and process architecture. You will be part of a team that values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and constructive debate to drive decision-making. Reporting to a member of the Enterprise Technology Solutions leadership team, you will engage with senior technology leaders to enhance our current business and technology capabilities. Your responsibilities will include establishing the technology target state for the Enterprise Payment and Billing Unit of a global Dow 30 company, setting the stage for top-tier solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural strategy for developing business rules solutions for modern Payment and Billing platforms.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to comprehend business objectives and assist in business rules harvesting and decision modeling.
- Assess decision outcomes and work with product owners to refine existing business rules to align with established business goals.
- Oversee the design and execution of business rules, ensuring their seamless integration with business processes and systems.
- Guarantee the alignment of decision models and business rules within comprehensive processes.
- Establish and implement robust frameworks and industry-leading practices for modeling, documenting, and analyzing business rules and processes.
- Exhibit strong thought leadership in modern architectural principles and technology modernization.
- Drive ongoing technology transformation to reduce technical debt.
- Analyze existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for implementing business rules that support the Travelers Payment and Billing ecosystem.
- Ensure the alignment of business processes with technical capabilities and the target state roadmap.
- Foster strong partnerships with engineering teams to ensure skill alignment with technology direction.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to create a cohesive approach to business rules and process implementations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of 4 years in technology engineering.
- Experience working within an agile operational framework.
- Proven track record in developing proof of concepts and technology.
- Demonstrated software engineering expertise.
- Support technology target states and roadmaps aligned with short- and long-term business objectives.
- Experience in insurance technology is preferred.
- Experience executing large-scale business rules implementations.
- Current experience with leading commercial Business Rules Engines.
- Strong understanding of value creation and business capability models.
- Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
- Passion for technology transformations.
- Hands-on experience within the last 3 years.
- Experience in technology modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud-native and API strategies.
- Current knowledge of AWS, APIs, accelerators, and DevSecOps.
- Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or significant architecture experience in the cloud.
- Good understanding of security protocols.
- Experience with large-scale technology platforms.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in engineering software or analytical applications within a business area.
