Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market range and encompasses a wide spectrum of salaries for this role across the country.

The actual salary will be influenced by various factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other employment conditions.

As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees may also qualify for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
Provide Underwriters with insights regarding account knowledge related to hazards, controls, and management. You will assess how a company identifies and manages its inherent risk factors. Additionally, you are expected to distinguish the account from others within similar business categories. In this role, the consultant will engage with larger, more complex accounts across all lines. This position reports to the Risk Control Field Director or Managing Risk Control Consultant.

What Will You Do?
Collaborate and share responsibility with Underwriting to select, retain, and expand a profitable portfolio of business.

Develop and sustain productive relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to serve customers as a cohesive team.

Conduct comprehensive risk assessment evaluations for various businesses with moderate to high complexity, such as manufacturing, large warehouse operations with challenging property, product liability exposures with potential for severe losses, multi-location companies, and larger fleet exposures, generally involving businesses with significant risks.

Prepare technically detailed reports that convey a clear risk assessment and effectively communicate recommendations.

Identify and evaluate customer needs through loss analysis and readiness to provide Risk Control products and services aimed at loss prevention.

Recognize uncontrolled exposures to encourage customers to implement improvements and corrective actions to mitigate potential losses.

Offer solutions to assist customers in risk mitigation by utilizing our extensive range of resources. Stay informed about technical subjects, regulatory environments, and emerging issues.
Deliver a valued customer experience through each assessment and service interaction.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

A Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences, or related technical fields
Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen
A graduate degree in a related field.
Recognized relevant certifications (such as ASP, CSP, ARM).
Technical aptitude, attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with others
Experience in a collaborative environment
Critical thinking skills.
Influencing skills that effectively drive business needs.
Negotiating change to achieve optimal outcomes
Ability to give and receive coaching and feedback

What is a Must Have?

5 years of experience in safety, risk management, or related fields in industries such as construction, manufacturing, or military
A valid driver’s license
Must possess or be able to obtain appropriate certification to meet specific state requirements where applicable.
