Role Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned Senior Commercial Lending Specialist with expertise in construction and renovation financing. In this role, you will be instrumental in our lending operations, driving the growth of our business by originating and finalizing commercial real estate loans. Your specialization in construction and renovation financing will be vital in evaluating loan applications, articulating the New Silver value proposition, analyzing collateral, and structuring transactions that align with our risk parameters. Furthermore, your capacity to deliver exceptional customer service and cultivate strong relationships with borrowers and partners will be crucial to your success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate and underwrite commercial real estate loans, focusing on construction and renovation financing with a target of $5M in closed and funded loans monthly.
  • Perform comprehensive analysis of loan applications, including applicant credentials, investment history, credit reports, and other pertinent documents to evaluate creditworthiness and determine loan eligibility.
  • Assess collateral properties to ascertain their market value, condition, and potential risks.
  • Structure loan transactions, including terms, interest rates, fees, and repayment schedules, while adhering to company policies and risk guidelines.
  • Collaborate with borrowers, real estate investors, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, address inquiries, and provide guidance throughout the loan process.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by proactively communicating with borrowers, providing regular updates on loan progress, and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Manage a pipeline of loan applications, ensuring timely follow-up and adherence to closing timelines while being accountable to productivity metrics and KPIs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions related to commercial real estate lending, particularly in the hard money and private money sectors.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of loan origination processes, systems, and strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential borrowers, referral partners, and industry professionals to generate new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer, with a focus on commercial or construction lending.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial real estate lending principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in originating and closing hard money and private money loans.
  • Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills, with the ability to evaluate creditworthiness and collateral risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with borrowers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and driven to meet and exceed lending targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Proficient in using loan origination systems, CRMs, and other relevant software.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in real estate lending (e.g., NMLS) is a plus.
