Medical Cancer Registrar

Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Cancer Registrar to join our team. As a key member of the cancer program, you will be responsible for identifying, collecting, and maintaining timely, accurate, and complete information about cancer diagnosed and/or treated within RRMC. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
About the Role:
- This position is full-time with benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
- The estimated salary range for this position is $25-$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, collect, and maintain timely, accurate, and complete information about cancer diagnosed and/or treated within RRMC.
- Assist with compliance for an approved Cancer Program as set forth by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC).
- Analyze and report cancer data to ensure quality and promote growth and development within the regional cancer programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Health Information Management or Public Health.
- Completion of college-level Anatomy and Physiology course.
- Prior medical office experience, preferably in tumor registry or cancer data analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires sitting for long periods, using a computer, and interacting with patients, staff, and external agencies.
